Slow down, breathe deeper.
Tucked away on the edge of Loch Alsh, with wide-open views towards Skye’s misty Munros, Tulach Ard is a place where the Highlands still feel wild. An 18th-century listed country house, lovingly restored by the Stewart family, it’s designed to feel like home - honest, beautiful, and in perfect rhythm with its surroundings.
Here, mornings roll in slowly with the tide. The scent of salt lingers in the sea breeze. Deer drift quietly through the woodland. Whether you’re watching the sun slip behind the hills or simply listening to the stillness, Tulach Ard invites you to be part of the landscape - to feel it, not just admire it.

Features
The Bedrooms: Wake Up with the Wild.
At Tulach Ard, the views do the talking. Each bedroom offers a different glimpse of the landscape, ancient woodlands, Skye’s distant peaks, or the ever-changing tides of the shore just beyond the garden.
The interiors are pared-back and timeless, designed to bring the outside in. Bespoke Scottish oak furniture, flat-woven wool carpets, and a palette of earthy tones reflect the land itself - honest, simple, and full of quiet character.
At night, sink into soft linen bedding, breathe in the stillness, and let the Highlands lull you to sleep.
Living: Space to slow down, settle in, and stay a while.
The heart of Tulach Ard is its large family living room - a space designed for togetherness. Spanning the width of the house, it opens out onto the garden, with double doors leading straight to the shore.
Inside, everything feels calm and considered. Bespoke oak furniture anchors the space, while window seats offer front-row views of the loch. It’s the perfect spot for a morning coffee, a slow afternoon with a book, or watching the weather roll in over the water.
Opposite the seating area, the dining space invites long, lazy meals, while the farmhouse kitchen, with its electric AGA, brings warmth and rustic charm. It’s the kind of kitchen where you’ll want to linger - where mornings stretch into afternoons over second cups of coffee.
The Grounds: Nature on Your Doorstep.
Step outside and you’re instantly part of the landscape. Tulach Ard sits on 30 acres of private farmland, woodland, and seashore, offering endless ways to roam.
Follow the half-mile private track through open farmland until you reach the raised beach, just yards from Loch Alsh. With Eilean Donan Castle at the far end of the loch, this stretch of water is home to seals, dolphins, and even the occasional whale.
Behind the house, a native Scottish woodland is alive with wildlife - deer weaving through the trees, birds of prey circling overhead. The grounds include traditional farm buildings, a large lawn, and a coastal garden, making it feel both rugged and inviting.
Whether you’re walking by the water, foraging through the woodland, or simply sitting still and watching the light shift over Skye, Tulach Ard brings you closer to nature.

No plans. No pace. Just space.
More than a house, Tulach Ard is an invitation. To return to yourself. To find beauty in stillness. And to feel, even just for a little while, part of the Highlands.
